About the Project:
We are currently seeking a Senior Setting Out Engineer to join our team on an exciting and dynamic mixed-use development project located in North Dublin City. This project will consist of high-quality apartments and retail units on the ground floor, contributing to the urban regeneration of the area. It is a key development, and we are looking for a skilled and experienced professional to help deliver the project to the highest standards.
Role Overview:
As the Senior Setting Out Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in setting out and controlling all aspects of the project’s construction phase. You will work closely with the Site Manager and other engineering teams to ensure accurate and efficient site measurements, alignments, and levelling. This is a hands-on role with significant responsibility, requiring a proactive individual capable of leading a team and managing on-site activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all setting out operations for the development, ensuring compliance with design and specification.
- Carry out accurate measurements, levelling, and alignments for the construction of apartments and retail units.
- Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with health and safety regulations and best practice.
- Lead and mentor junior engineers and site operatives, providing support and guidance where needed.
- Maintain and update records, drawings, and reports for progress tracking and compliance.
- Liaise with architects, structural engineers, and contractors to resolve any technical issues on-site.
- Monitor quality control procedures, ensuring the delivery of high-quality construction in line with project timelines.
- Assist in managing subcontractors and ensuring the smooth operation of all site activities.
- Provide regular updates and reports to the Site Manager and other senior project stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of experience in setting out and engineering within the construction industry, with a focus on mixed-use developments or residential projects.
- Strong understanding of setting out equipment, surveying, and the latest construction technologies.
- Experience in managing and mentoring junior engineers and site teams.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Familiarity with health, safety, and quality procedures on construction sites.
- Knowledge of local building regulations and construction practices in Ireland.
- Proficiency in using AutoCAD, Total Stations, GPS equipment, and other relevant engineering tools.
- A proactive, results-driven approach with attention to detail.
