About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Setting Out Engineer to join our team for the construction of a modern Community Sports Centre in South Dublin. The role requires a proactive individual with a strong background in setting out and a keen eye for detail. You will be a key member of the site team, ensuring precise and accurate implementation of design specifications, maintaining high-quality standards, and contributing to the timely and cost-effective delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting Out & Surveying:
- Accurately set out all structural elements, foundations, and utilities for the project using advanced surveying equipment (e.g., GPS, Total Station).
- Perform as-built surveys and provide feedback to the project team.
- Quality Assurance:
- Verify levels, alignments, and tolerances for compliance with design and project standards.
- Collaborate with site supervisors and subcontractors to ensure work aligns with project requirements.
- Design Interpretation:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics to deliver high-quality implementation.
- Provide technical guidance and solutions for any discrepancies between design and site conditions.
- Project Coordination:
- Liaise with architects, engineers, and contractors to resolve technical queries.
- Contribute to site meetings, providing progress updates and technical input.
- Health & Safety Compliance:
- Uphold the highest standards of site safety, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Actively participate in risk assessments and method statements.
- Documentation & Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of all setting out works and related documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of progress reports and attend client/site meetings.
Key Skills & Competencies:
- Excellent knowledge of surveying techniques and equipment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Trimble, Leica).
- Solid understanding of Irish construction regulations and standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in large-scale commercial or sports facility projects.
- Proven track record in delivering high-precision setting out for complex projects.
- Full clean driving license.
