Senior QS/ Commercial Manager

CSR is working with a leading engineering contractor that specialises in the Power Industry.

Involved on a Northern Ireland project, they wish to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager to join a £50M+ project lasting 12 months minimum.

Working closely with the Project Manager on site, and reporting to the Contracts Director responsibilities will include:

• Management of all Project Commercial matters
• Develop and expand the commercial knowledge of the project team
• Oversee Vendors/Subcontracts and enforce commercial terms as necessary
• Review all commercial plans to deliver maximum margin
• Provide contractual advice during the execution process
• Identify improvements to commercial procedures
• Manage the monthly commercial audit and reporting process
• Support mediation/adjudication claims
• Manage CVRs monthly to satisfy the requirements of the Business Unit/Company and provide any other reports which may be required
• Ensure compliance with corporate governance
• Manage and review cost to complete forecasts
• Monthly payment applications and cash collection
• Ensure all valuations are submitted on time
• Maximise monthly valuations
• Deal with claims preparation, final account negotiation and settlement
• Ensure full compliance with Company commercial procedures and corporate governance requirements

The Senior Quantity Surveyor will have a degree in Quantity Surveying/ Related Discipline (Engineering) and have the desire to develop to Commercial Manager level.

You will have a minimum of 8-10 years' commercial experience within a contracting environment, PQS backgrounds will also be considered.

You will be a conscientious, organised individual and a good communicator.

Some MEP project experience is advantageous but not essential.
