Senior Estimator - Building

A Top 5 Building Contractor in Northern Ireland has a new opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join the team. 

The Senior Estimator shall be responsible for Pre-Construction Estimating, working closely and directly with internal / external clients, other disciplines and teams from project inception, accountable and responsible for all financial and estimating aspects of the projects.

  • To procure contracts and budgets for the Company in accordance with the Business Strategy.
  • To ensure highly competitive, carefully resourced, analysed tender costs and preparing qualitysubmissions to clients. 
  • To work within Frameworks evaluating negotiated contracts. 
  • To be aware ofcompany targets for new orders and aim to better them with profitable successful bids. 

Other duties will include:

  • Assist the Senior Pre-Construction Management Team in developing new Clients andopportunities whilst maintaining existing Client relationships
  • Produce robust estimates/ cost plans/ budgets from concept plans and specifications to aidClient business cases
  • Demonstrate strong experience of estimating large scale >£50m/ complex tenders
  • A track record of working on winning tenders that have delivered successful contracts
  • Review and comment on tender documentation with regards to legal, bond & insurancerequirements, seeking advice from relevant internal and external parties
  • Review tender documentation for completeness and provide input to the tender clarification/query process
  • Review tender documentation in order to highlight key project risks and opportunities to bedocumented within a risk register that is both discussed with the Senior Pre-ConstructionManagement Team and presented within key tender meetings
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead the estimating function on Design & Build tender, includingidentification of contractor design elements, engagement of designers and management ofdesigners
  • Lead estimating input and present within internal start-up, mid tender & finalisation meetings
  • Work collaboratively within the wider tender team providing input on quality and technicalissues in order to deliver a successful submission
  • Compile enquiry schedules and seek input/ recommendations from relevant operations/delivery team personnel
  • Engage key supply chain partners during the tender process so as to inform proposedprogramme, cost and method
  • Demonstrate the ability to confidently compile Bills of Quantities utilising the relevant Method of Measurement and manage the process when undertaken by others
  • Demonstrate the ability to confidently undertake accurate quantification/ measurement andmanage the process when undertaken by others 

The company requires an Estimator to have a minimum of 5-6 years' experience within the Building sector.

Large project experience is desriable. 

In return you will receive a salary in the region of £65K-72K + Hybrid Working + Life Assurance + Pension + Additional Benefits
