Senior Cost Consultant

JOB DESCRIPTION

·         INTERMEDIATE/SENIOR - Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS)

·         Quantity Surveying Practice / Hybrid Working

·         Hotels/Offices/Retail/Residential/Commercial/Industrial

·         DUBLIN BASED WORK

·         SALARY - €55,000 - €70,000 

·         Quantity surveying degree (RICS)

·         6-7+ years’ experience in PQS practice or consultancy (Preferably chartered)

With an extremely busy market in Dublin at the moment, one of the consultancies in Ireland requires a Quantity Surveyor, and it’s a huge opportunity to work on multi-million euro projects. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Prepare cost plans, feasibility studies, tender documentation and pre-tender estimates.
• Provide advice on procurement and contracts
• Attend client, site and design team meetings throughout the life of each project and actively
• contribute to these meetings
• Prepare robust contract documentation, including Letters of Intent, for execution by our clients and
• their main contractors.
• Act as a mentor to support and provide guidance to more junior members of staff within the team
• Actively carry out the post contract quantity surveying activities on schemes, including:

1.      Preparing cost reports and discussing them with the client’s project manager prior to submission.

2.      Agreeing monthly valuations with the main contractors.

3.      Valuing scheme variations.

4.      Agreeing scheme final accounts

5.      Analysing scheme construction costs for the client’s taxation purposes

6.      Manage relationships with various people, including clients, project architects, services engineers, project managers, suppliers, contractors, as well as the internal teams

7.      Actively support business objectives and deliver value for money in all circumstances

Previous Experience and Credentials

• MRICS qualified
• Both pre- and post-contract skills and experience, with a focus on cost planning and cost
• Experience across a variety of sectors including Residential, Commercial, Retail and Leisure
• Experience of managing and working on multiple projects at any given time
