A Lisburn Based Specialist Contractor has a new opportunity for a QS to join the Commercial Team.

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for the setting and management of budgets, costs, and variations from estimating stage through to the completion of the project and agreement of final account.  The QS is responsible for identifying variations, pricing, and agreeing variations with both clients and company's supply chain. 

The Quantity Surveyor is also responsible for procuring and managing the Subcontract and "Supply and Fit" packages of jobs within budget, agreeing the variation and contra account, and final accounts of said packages.

The Quantity Surveyor reports on all commercial matters on their assigned projects in the form of monthly CVR reports which is reported to the Managing Director, Non-Executive Director and The Finance Director.

Experience

Minimum 2 years post graduate experience ideally within a Main Contracting or Specialist Subcontracting role.

Essential Skills

• Strong communication skills
• Strong Contractual Knowledge of NEC/JCT/ Design and Build
• Confident, Proactive and a team player.
• Good Negotiator

Duties & Responsibilities within position (but not confined to)-

• Liaising with and providing advice and guidance with team members on all commercial and contractual matters.
• Monthly reporting of commercial and financial positions of all projects. (CVR)
• Monitoring progress on site and issuing required notices in accordance with the contract.
• Reviewing payment applications from Sub contractors and issuing payment notices within the contracted timeframe.
• Submitting and agreeing applications with the Client and/or Supply Chain.
• Pricing and agreeing variations with the Client and/or Supply Chain.
• Periodic Visits to site will be required.
