Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Reports to: Engineering Manager
Location: Cookstown. The role will involve some limited travel, if and when required on site. Not very often.
Hybrid working - 2-3 days from home and 2-3 days in the office.
Job Purpose
The Engineer will be required to plan, forecast, resource, and manage all the technical activities aiming to ensure project accuracy and quality from inception to completion. They will also be required to work with other engineers to deliver bespoke equipment and control systems to meet project specifications.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
• Create design data including Drawings, Calculations, BOM, Equipment Schedules, P & I Diagrams, Control Philosophies and component specifications.
• Use Solidworks, AutoCAD, FEA software to create designs & fabrication drawings.
• Build and maintain strong and professional relationships with clients ensuring effective communication throughout project delivery.
• Continuously monitor, review, and assess quality of subcontractor work.
• Track and monitor internal and external information exchanges as per ISO 90001.
• Assign tasks to subcontractors and suppliers, ensure adherence to relevant Health and Safety Standards and Quality controls.
• Contribute to the day-to-day management and control of projects ensuring assigned project is delivered on time and to budget.
• Work effectively as part of the Engineering Department to deliver high quality products/project inline with our customers’ expectations.
· Develop risk assessments and method statements for each project.
· Liaise with construction team to ensure plant is delivered and installed correctly.
· Commissioning of equipment.
Minimum Role Criteria
· Minimum of 1 year’s post-graduation relevant experience in a similar role
· Proficient in 3D CAD software,
· A full current driving licence and access to a car. Consideration will be given to alternative travelling proposals in respect of applicants with a disability who cannot hold a licence.
· Knowledge of current Health & Safety Regulations
· Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable
· Experience working in fabrication environments.
· Experience working in process engineering.
· 3 year’s or more post-graduate relevant experience.
· Knowledge of control panels, PLCs, and electrical systems.
· Knowledge chemical dosing systems.
