A leading building services contractor seeks to appoint an Electrical or Mechanical QS to join the organisation. Working in sectors such as Education, Industrial, Health & Commercial, this company offers excellent career opportunities.

Responsibilities:

Involved on projects up to the value of £20M, you will be mainly based in Northern Ireland with occasional travel expected throughout the UK. Reporting to the commercial director you will be responsible for the following:

• Pre construction negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers
• Selection & appointment of suppliers and subcontractors
• Involved with department P&L accounts, preparation of annual revenue forecasts, and departmental budgets.
• Preparation of monthly management reports, and KPI's.
• Cost Planning and Procurement of works packages and feasibility works for all proposals
• Liaise closely with the estimation department
• Certification of monthly applications from trade contractors, identification of scope changes and valuation of costs.
• Provide commercial support and back up to Project and construction Managers and preparation of commercial correspondence
• Final change agreements of packages.

Essential Criteria:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related subject
• Minimum 3 years experience within a Mechanical or Electrical QS environment
• Relevant experience of managing large electrical or mechanical packages
• Hardworking attitude
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Strong business acumen

The ideal applicant will possess Mechanical QS experience however candidates with electrical experience will also be considered as full training will be provided.
