M&E Design Engineers (Building Services) – All levels considered

 

CSR are working alongside a Belfast based consultancy whose focus is on creating innovative mechanical and electrical design and continuing the practices legacy of growing through a combination of repeat business and client recommendations.

 

•        Belfast based.

•        Salary – role dependant.

•        Prior experience in a Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineer role within Building Services.

•        Experience using Revit software, Amtech Software.

•        Grad to Associate level roles.

•        Obtained chartered status or be working towards this (dependent on level).

 

Responsibilities:

•        To provide discipline leadership (level dependant).

•        To have thorough knowledge of, and comply with, company procedures and standards.

•        To adhere to the design process and undertake M&E engineering design activities relating to the project.

•        To fulfil the Practice’s overall objective in producing first class engineering on time and on budget.

 

Qualities and Skills required

Essential:

•        Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities.

•        Solid technical understanding of own core engineering discipline and the role of the environmental engineer within the design team.

•        Broad understanding of other engineering disciplines engaged in the design of the built environment.

•        Good understanding of UK Building Regulations and industry standard design reference material.

•        Ability to use initiative in response to demands of project.

•        Able to negotiate and communicate well in graphical, written or verbal forms including ability to listen and to understand others.

•        Ability to understand and formulate design decisions.

•        A flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and a proven commitment to independent, lifelong learning.

•        Developed problem-solving and analytical skills.

•        Good interpersonal skills and able to work independently and as part of an effective team.

•        Able to build good relationships at all levels, internally and externally.

•        Resilient to cope with conflicting demands, able to prioritise duties and work effectively under pressure.

 

Desirable:

•        Ability to use Autodesk Revit.

•        Experience of BREEAM or having working familiarity with environmental assessment methods.

•        Familiarity with CIBSE design standards etc.

•        Ability to use some of the following software applications: Dialux, Amtech, Microsoft ‘Office’ suite, Adobe Creative Suite.
