CSR is working with a tier one construction company in the recruitment of a Legal Commercial Professional.

Reporting to the Director level you will be responsible for Construction, Engineering and Dispute Resolution providing legal professional services to include:

Tenders:

• Review and analysis of tender and contract documentation; risk & reporting to senior management team
• The preparation and issue of proposed Professional Services Agreements for Design Consultants

Awarding of Contract

Manage all legal aspects of contract with Employer, Design Team & Subcontractors to include

• Scope of work, amendments to contract
• Collateral Warranties
• Deed of appointment
• PI insurance guarantees
• Visiting sites as necessary

Other responsibilities will include

• Contentious Construction Issues
• Non Contentious Construction Issues
• Preparation of claims for loss and expense;
• Preparation of adjudication referral, response and reply documents;
• Strategic advice at all stages of the construction lifecycle.

With experience from either a consultancy or contractor organisation, you will have specific experience in Contract Management, Audit Support, Claims Support and/or Project Planning within the construction sector.

We are seeking individuals from a quantity surveying, project management, engineering and/or legal background, to work with and support growing team of experts and aid the organic growth of this high performing team.

You will be

• Confident in a client and legal facing environment, with good presentational skills and natural gravitas
• An awareness of construction contracts and the process and procedures relating thereto
• Application of methodical analytical skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach to service delivery under a number of challenging scenarios
• Confident in approach, with the ability to support commercial & senior management team
• Some experience of providing services on live contracts and projects in distress

To be considered you must be degree in Quantity Surveying and a minimum of 8' years post qualification experience. 

Applicants with a MSc in Construction Law or working towards this, or similar, will be at a distinct advantage
