Job role: Junior Health & Safety Advisor – Midlands

The CSR Group has been retained by one of Irelands leading Civil Contractors who deliver projects across Ireland England and North America.

They are seeking a Junior H&S advisor to be based on sites within the Midlands area and cover multiple sites.

The Company was formed over 20 years ago and ever since they have shown great progression in the jobs they have undertaken. This job is ideal for someone who is eager to learn as you will be working under experienced H&S professionals.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry
• Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
• Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees
• Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
• Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers
• Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
• Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
• Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation

Skills and qualifications:

• Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred)
• 1-2 years in similar role
• Previous construction experience
