Job role: Junior Health & Safety Advisor – Cavan

The CSR Group has been retained by one of Irelands leading Engineering Contractors who have consistently proven their ability to get projects done on time and in a safe manner.

They are seeking a Junior H&S advisor to work in their head office based in Cavan with regular site visits to their sites based from Cavan to Dublin.

The successful candidate will have prior Construction experience and have a recognised H&S Qualification, experience working as a H&S Advisor is desirable.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry
• Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
• Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees
• Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
• Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers
• Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
• Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
• Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation

Skills and qualifications:

• Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma 
• Full clean drivers licence
• 1-2 years in similar role (preferred)
• Previous construction experience
