Job role: Health & Safety advisor – Leinster

The CSR Group has been retained by a Family run Building Contractor who has been operating in Ireland for over 40 years.

They are seeking a H&S advisor to be based on sites within the Leinster area with a company van provided.

With the company being family ran you will have great progression opportunities and a chance to be recognised for the work you put in. This job is ideal for someone who is eager to learn as you will be working under experienced H&S professionals.

The successful candidate will have prior experience working as a H&S advisor for a minimum of 2 years preferably Civils experience.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry
• Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
• Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees
• Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
• Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers
• Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
• Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
• Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation

Skills and qualifications:

• Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred)
• 2+ years in similar role
• Previous construction experience
