Job role: Health & Safety Officer – Galway

The CSR Group has been retained by a leading Civil Engineering Contractor who endeavours into works across Ireland and the UK. This company is advertising a job role for a Senior H&S Officer in Galway. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced H&S professional to join a leading Contractor and implement a top-down approach.

They see H&S as one of their main priorities within their working environment and always go above and beyond to keep it up to standard.

The Successful candidate will have 7+ years’ experience in construction H&S. And recent experience working on Civil Projects.

Day-to-day responsibilities:

• Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry
• Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
• Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees
• Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements
• Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
• Carrying out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
• Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation

Skills and qualifications:

• Recognised EHS Degree or Diploma (NEBOSH diploma or equivalent qualification preferred)
• 7+ years in a H&S Construction role  
• Civils Experience
