CSR are sourcing for a Health & Safety Advisor for our client who are a leading SHEQ Consultancy to leading multinational Construction, Civil Engineering, Fit-Out, Tele-Coms & Manufacturing based clients.
Due to continued growth, they are currently seeking a SHEQ Advisor to work with a number of their clients across UK and Ireland, You will be based out of Hillsborough Nortrhern Ireland and required to travel to sites across the North with infrequent trips down South and across the Uk to deliver and develop clients Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.
This will include, but not limited to, undertaking audits and inspections, developing operating procedures, preparing reports and statistics, delivering presentations as well as providing advice and guidance to clients and their employees. Although primarily office based from our head office in County Down, this role will require travel to client’s offices & sites throughout Ireland and UK.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Undertake regular inspections and audits in keeping with client’s programme
- Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.
- Prepare and present relevant statistics.
- Advise and assist site and office-based staff on all aspects of each client’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and procedures.
- Continual promotion of the health and safety ethos and culture to each client and their subcontractors.
- Preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans for contract sites
- Advise on training requirements
- Completion tender pre-qualification questionnaires and contribute to quality submissions. • Assist and attend client’s external SHEQ audits
- Attend and contribute to client’s health and safety meetings
- Prepare and distribute regular health and safety alerts as required.
- Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems
- Advise on training requirements
PERSONAL PROFILE
- Relevant qualification in health and safety is essential
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant experience
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence safety
- Knowledge and experience with construction regulations and roles
- Must be a team player
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Package
- 5+ years’ experience working on large scale commercial/construction projects.
- Good understanding and experience of Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation and Codes of Practice.
- Strong communication skills – both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise workload and balance demands from numerous sources.
