Job role: Health & Safety Advisor - Cork
The CSR Group is currently working with a leading contractor in Ireland who has been in the construction industry for over 30 years.
This company is looking for a H&S professional to take on this exciting new role. The sites you will mainly be working on are residential work leading into other sectors as they arise.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic professional to take their place within a long established company and implement a top-down approach to the H&S of the site.
The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years experience as a H&S professional within construction preferably residential.

Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Manage emergency procedures, respond to health and safety-related complaints or issues; Keep a focus on health and safety within the business.
- Keeping up to date with new legislation and maintaining a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer’s industry.
- Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
- Outlining safe operational procedures which identify and take account of all relevant hazards and communicating to all employees.
- Keeping records of inspections findings and producing reports that suggest improvements.
- Keeping records of incidents and accidents and producing statistics for managers
- Delivering Toolbox Talks and liaising with HSE, Fire Officers, Environmental Health Officers
- Conducting regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented and adhered to
- Making changes to working practices making them safer and ensuring they comply with current legislation.
- Ensure safe working procedures are implemented.
- Ensure that all accidents are reported, recorded, investigated and appropriate actions are taken to ensure that they do not happen again.
Skills and qualifications:
- 2-3 years in similar role
- Previous construction experience
- Must work well as a team and be able to collaborate with others.
- Drivers licence
