Our Client is a leading UK wide Facilities Management contractor with over 40 years’ experience.
They currently require a SHE Manager to join them working from their office in Belfast
As SHE Manager you will be responsible for all aspects of delivery of the Company’s Safety, Health and Environmental Management Systems. You will be a key player in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of our workforce. You will provide expert guidance and support across our clients Asset Management Contracts, continually improving their existing SHE procedures. Your proactive and enthusiastic approach will help foster effective relationships with the client’s site teams, various business units, and clients.
This is a significant role where you will contribute directly to the clients mission of keeping our workforce injury-free, achieving their SHE objectives, and maintaining compliance with the latest health, safety, and environmental legislation.
Packages £45 - £55k plus car/car allowance
Key Responsibilities
· Provide expert technical support, advice, and guidance on SHE matters to the Project Management team.
· Investigate incidents, accidents, and high-potential observations
· Deliver Asbestos Awareness training in line with UKATA guidelines.
· Act as the main contact for construction phase plans, ensuring compliance with UK/ROI legislation.
· Liaise with statutory agencies and prepare initial Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) for client approval.
· Collaborate with clients through joint audits and meetings, and oversee subcontractor SHEQ prequalification checks.
· Conduct site audits during high-risk activities and provide expert advice on legislative updates and their impact on business units.
· Lead the development and maintenance of the clients Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance activities, ensuring alignment with ISO standards.
Essential:
· A formal H&S qualification (e.g., NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
· CSCS/CSR cardholder.
· Appropriate Security Clearance (or the willingness to obtain it).
· In-depth knowledge of Temporary Works and relevant Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation (including CDM & Asbestos regulations).
· A minimum of 5 years of H&S experience in construction, facilities management, or a related field.
· Strong communication, numeracy, and literacy skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
Desirable:
· NEBOSH Construction Certificate or Diploma.
· Experience as a Temporary Works Designated Individual.
· Direct experience working with site teams in a construction environment.
· Working towards, or already holding, a Grad IOSH or equivalent professional qualification.
· Knowledge of management standards (45001 / HSG65), and awareness of quality and environmental systems (9001 / 14001).
· Familiarity with a Behavioural-Based Safety approach to H&S improvement.
