A specialist subcontractor based in Co. Down has an excellent opportunity for a Graduate/ Junior Quantity Surveyor to join the organisation. 

This is a new role and provides an opportunity to join a fast growing business at an exciting time of development, delivering some extraordinary projects. The projects vary greatly in size, location and content but the common theme is natural stone.

The role of the Quantity Surveyor is broad and provides an excellent opportunity to develop your already established quantity surveying skills, incorporating estimating, project managing, appointing subcontractors, procuring materials, financial reporting, valuation submissions and final account negotiations.

Key Responsibilities:

Your role will include, but will not be limited to the following:

• Assist in the preparation and coordination of tenders for submission
• Prepare and manage subcontract and material procurement
• Oversee measures and report variances, prepare valuations for interim applications
• Prepare supporting documentation for the client and their consultants
• Produce Bills of quantities
• Monitor costs to ensure budgets are met and attend regular finance meetings
• Monitoring sub-contractor accounts
• Preparation and submission of weekly financial reports to client and client QS
• Monthly cost/value reconciliations & finalising of project accounts
• Managing several projects at different stages at any one time
• Providing commercial support to the team including site visits and team liaison
• Regular and accurate reporting to the Directors

Requirements:

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying
• 1+ years industry experience in Quantity Surveying
• Project estimating skills and sound Project Management
• Negotiating and communication skills
• Accurate financial reporting
• Full driving licence
