Senior Site Engineer – UK Travel Candidate No.8007
A Senior Site Engineer with a strong placement year with NI Contractor and UK main Contractor. He commenced his postgraduate employment with Kier on major projects in 2011 working his way in to a Senior Engineering role. At present he sees his natural progression moving in to Site Management and would like to gain a career opportunity working again with a Northern Ireland Contractor. Currently based in England the candidate is looking to be located in NI with employment in a travelling role.

From house building through to major projects, with one of the UK’s biggest contractors. I am very flexible and always willing to learn and adapt to different situations. I am also confident and organised and believe in providing a high standard of work at all times. Camden Civic Centre, £67M, London Sep 12 – Jul 14
- Engineer for the main core slip form which built 14 storeys of core in just 17 days.
- Manage circa. £4m worth of sub-contract works inc. high spec architectural metal work, scaffolding, elements of the RC frame, structural steel work and cladding and the hard landscaping with a tight programme, foot print and logistics.
- Manage three stories of roofing works inc. the installation of a lot of heavy plant (AHU’s, chillers, switch rooms, pump rooms etc), a hot melt & brown roof, steel structure, Kingspan cladding and atrium glazing and access equipment.
- Responsible for ensuring works are installed as per design and comply with the specification and all relevant British and European standards.
- Setting and implementing QA procedures for various elements of the work.
- In my role as AP I am responsible for all lifting operations on site, including the review and writing of lift plans and management off all tower and mobile craneage inc. erection and dismantle.
- Temporary works coordinator, responsible for ensuring temporary works are in place, are as per design and reflect site conditions.
- Currently working as a Section Manager on plot B3 of the Kings Cross redevelopment building a mixed use building providing 155,000sq ft of office space for Camden Council inc. mixed retail, leisure facilities including a swimming pool and a library.
Mid Kent College, £60M, London Aug 08 – Sep 09
- I worked full time for the Kier Group on this award winning £60m project which was part of the government’s ‘Building Schools for the Future’ Scheme.
- Worked independently as a site engineer, checking and setting out of works and updating the as-built records.
- Part managed a wide range of packages, from structural steel and concrete to the external envelope and internal finishes.
- Liaised with the client, architects and sub-contractors on build and design issues.
- Collated information for the Considerate Contractors Scheme, for which the site won a Silver Award.
- Integral part of the team working under pressure during the phased handovers.
- Worked weekends and extra hours where necessary to meet deadlines.
- Met the needs of a demanding client during the snagging and handover phases.
- Kept the interests of the company at the forefront of day to day work, working to strict budget and time limitations.
