CRS is working with a client who have an exciting new opportunity for Buyer to join their team based in Co. Armagh. They have worked in the occupied social housing sector for over 30 years, providing services to the Northern Ireland Housing Executive and Housing Associates.

Role Overview:

  • You as a Buyer will have the responsibility for the successful initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, controlling of the purchasing of materials for the factory and or site works.
  • Be responsible for making decisions, both large and small.
  • Control risk and minimise uncertainty.

Responsibilities:

  • Identifying, selecting and approving suppliers, in line with Company procedures.
  • Maintain Approves Supplier List, ensuring that documentation is kept up to date.
  • Placing Purchase Orders with Suppliers for Goods and Services in line with budget, quality, and delivering requirements.
  • Being the first point of contact for all suppliers, site managers and subcontractors.
  • Expedite all orders and communicate with site managers daily, to highlight any shortfalls or potential issues that may disrupt business operations.
  • Provide analysis of costs, identity cost saving opportunities, record and report cost savings.
  • Maintain relationship with current suppliers.
  • Ensure that Purchase Order values are kept up to date capturing any variations and highlighting to the commercial Team.
  • Access and Evaluate supplier performance, providing feedback.
  • Contact Suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues raising supplier non-conformances when issues arise.
  • Support QS Department with pricing in relation to tenders.

Key Skills:

  • Experience of working in a Procurement team preferably within a construction environment.
  • Be able to work effectively under pressure and good ability to deal with multiple demands.
  • Strive for continuous improvements and feel comfortable to suggest improvements of process
  • Good analytical ability with attention to detail
  • Ability to network and build strong relationship both internally and externally
  • Strong Organisational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines whilst paying particular attention to details.
