Trainee Quantity Surveyor

A South Down based Building Contractor seeks to recruit a Trainee Quantity Surveyor.

This role would suit a Junior/ Trainee QS who has a degree or HND in a Construction related discipline. It is not essential that you have a QS qualification. Applicants could be working towards a degree in Construction/ Quantity Surveying on a part-time basis. 

DUTIES

• Producing Target costs
• Assessing works carried out on site against designed instructions
• Requesting works instructions to cover variations
• Claiming value against works done for mains and services
• Production of weekly / monthly reports to create monthly template
• Carry out random audits on measures provided by operatives on mains and services to ensure accuracy of claims
• Carry out joint audits with Client
• Agree final accounts with Client on mains and services packages
• Production statistical information on works carried out

The role initially will involve junior surveying and administration duties but has the scope and potential to develop into a more challenging commercial role depending on the individual.  It is therefore essential that the candidate has an inquisitive and analytical mind-set with high numerical skills.
