Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

SUMMARY

We are working with a UK and Ireland Engineering consultancy in order to find an experienced  mechanical design engineer for their Belfast office.
Based in Belfast with work across the province, this opportunity provides the chance for an already developed mechanical design engineer to enhance their experience through projects valued at millions of pounds. These projects cover mostly large education and large commercial.

There are huge opportunities within this role to step into senior positions with them growing at a fantastic and healthy rate with work secured right through 2021 already. Associate role available in due course.

The company had fantastic productivity throughout the Covid-19 lockdown with no staff furloughed and no redundancies made.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

§  Manage engineering designs in line with client brief and other project requirements

§  Review and provide feedback on deigns produced by junior staff

§  Day to day management

§  Assessing project requirements

§  Project leader and company and company resource for mechanical system design

§  Provide critical review and guidance to design

§  Measuring performance of mechanical components and equipment

§  Using computer aided design and modelling software’s

§  Assist in development of project pre and post tender (dependant on project)

§  Undertake relevant research

§  Liaising with suppliers

§  Report writing and documentation

§  Analyse and break down of data

§  Agreeing budgets and timescales

§  Maintaining equipment, ensuring safety and efficiency

§  Regular meetings with staff and colleagues mainly for reviewing

§  Troubleshoot and problem solve if and when problems arise

§  Maintain company reputation

§  Keeping informed  of any new technical innovations in electrical engineering

§  Receive assistance from junior-intermediate level engineers

§  Adhere to health and safety regulations

§  Provide testing to ensure product quality
