Overview 

This role sits within a specialist interiors and themed environment business that delivers high specification, design led projects across the UK, Europe and further afield. Their work includes commercial developments, immersive environments and large-scale themed attractions for well-known global clients. 

You will be joining a team that works on projects with real visibility, including international themed attractions and a major European development that is the first of its kind. It is the type of experience that is hard to find in the local market and gives you the chance to work on projects that genuinely stand out. 

They are looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident taking full commercial ownership from early stage through to final account. You will be involved in detailed, design driven schemes where your decisions make a clear difference to how projects are delivered. 

 

What you will be doing 

You will lead the commercial delivery of projects and work closely with project managers, directors and clients across both local and international workstreams. 

Your focus will be protecting margin, managing risk and keeping projects financially on track from start to finish. 

Your responsibilities will include: 

  • Taking full commercial responsibility for projects or major packages
  • Managing subcontractor procurement,negotiationand appointment
  • Controlling costs and monitoring budgets throughout the project lifecycle  
  • Preparing and agreeing variations
  • Submitting and agreeing interim valuations and managing cash flow  
  • Identifyingand managing commercial risks early
  • Supporting programme reviews and extension of time assessments  
  • Preparing,negotiatingand agreeing final accounts
  • Attending client and internal meetings and providing clear commercial direction
  • Mentoring junior team members whenrequired

What we are looking for 

  • Around seven years or more experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Strong background in commercial project delivery within fit out, interiors or specialist construction
  • Confident managing contracts such as JCT or NEC
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar
  • Commercially sharp,organisedand comfortable making decisions
  • A strong communicator who can deal confidently with clients and supply chain
