BASED: Belfast

CONTRACT: Permanent

SALARY: £50,000-£55,000

 

Our client an expert in construction, interior fit -out, commercial furniture, specialist joinery and facilities management. Deliver projects across all sectors- from high end car showrooms and office fit-out schemes to fast-track retail build projects. As a specialist Facilities Management Provider, they strive to build strong collaborative partnerships with all their clients through the delivery of a best-in-class service, harnessed by the technical expertise of engineers. 

As part of their business growth strategy, they are seeking to recruit an experienced M&E Estimator to join their team. Reporting to the Director of Facilities Management, the M&E estimator will be instrumental to the success of new business growth within the Facilities Management Department.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience as an Estimator with a core electrical skillset from the Facilities Management and/or building services industry.

Responsibilities:

The M&E Estimator shall be responsible for Hard FM services tendering and commercial pricing and will work closely and directly with internal / external clients. To prepare analytical costs for tenders, from receipt of enquiry to tender submission and to maintain a library of reference information. To assist and produce priced tenders that are accurate, clearly detailed, and competitive and returned within deadlines. Maintain good relationships with prospective clients and professionals to promote further tender invitations.

  • Full understanding of ITT documents to identify any risks or requirements to be included within the tender submission.
  • Researching materials and labour costs and review potential Value Engineering options.
  • Collecting quotes from material suppliers and sub-contractors where applicable.
  • Preparing sub-contractor/supplier packages for sending out to the market.
  • Analysing sub-contractor/supplier quotations for the most competitive and compliant costs.
  • Monitor enquiry process and dates for quote returns.
  • Assess individual rates and prices, amend, create new or insert from material and subcontract
  • Ensure that all estimating processes and procedures are followed to deliver a submission following tender settlement.
  • Leading on all Facilities Management commercial tender meetings.
  • Responsibility for determining most competitive cost proposal through labour load, sub-contract quotations and most efficient delivery solution.
  • Attend relevant meetings/site visits.
  • Prepare in-house and client tender pricing sheets for all tender finalisation meetings with the Director of Facilities Management, in advance of tender submission date.
  • Presenting bids to management for sign off/agreement.
  • Update the commercial library as appropriate.

Qualifications:

Essential

  • Strong knowledge and experience in the use of SFG20 planned maintenance schedules.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in the pricing of Hard FM services tenders.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft excel.

 Desirable

  • Educated to degree or HND level with relevant work experience.
  • Experience of pricing in both the Public and Private sectors, as well as Frameworks.

Experience

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate previous experience in a similar Hard FM services estimating role.
  • Good communication and numeracy skills.
