The CSR Group are currently recruiting for a Health & Safety Officer, to join a top 5 NI based Building Main Contractor. The main purpose of the role will be to co-ordinate the Health and Safety on-site, ensuring all statutory and contractual obligations are met. This is a new position for the company and the successful candidate will report to Project Manager level.

Initially site based in Portadown the successful candidate will be required to attend meetings at the companies Head Office in Mid Ulster and work on a site to site basis throughout NI.

Salary £25-35k DOE

Key Responsibilities:

Preparation of risk assessments and method statements

Approval of risk assessments and method statements

Enforcement of health and safety regulations and site rules

Undertaking site audits and inspections

Ensuring all relevant staff have required training

Assisting with investigation and report of accidents and incidents

PPE enforcement

Completing tasks in accordance with company integrated management systems

Liaison with company health and safety personnel and advisors

Promoting a proactive health and safety approach

Undertaking all other tasks as and when required.

Essential Criteria

NEBOSH General Certificate

NEBOSH Level 3 in Occupational Health & Safety

At least 2 years’ experience in a health & Safety Role in the construction sector

Excellent interpersonal & organisational skills

Ability to manage deadlines

Good decision making & problem solving skills

Strong commercial acumen

Excellent IT skills 

Desirable Criteria 

CSR Card

HND qualification in Engineering/Quantity Surveying/Building surveying or another construction related discipline

Experience using project management software

Working knowledge of integrated management systems

Knowledge of Health & Safety accredited schemes

Experience in delivering training
