Health & Safety Manager - Tyrone

The CSR Group have been retained by a leading Main Contractor from NI to recruit a new Health & Safety Manager for the Tyrone based company. Their SHEQ (Health, Safety, Environment and Quality) Department provides group wide services to contracts throughout UK and extended groups. Being based out of their head office and reporting directly into the SHEQ Director, the H&S Manager's primary responsibility will be to assist in managing the operational requirements of their SHEQ team.

 

Main Responsibilities:

 

  • Coaches, demonstrates and assists with the management of SHEQ whilst ensuring legislation and guidelines are followed.
  • Assists the Director with the management and supervision of the SHEQ team.
  • Tracks and trends key performance indicators, coordinates with the Director to proactively address gaps.
  • Assists in all aspects of incident investigation; verifying the cause, confirming recommended corrective and preventative actions and presenting findings reports.
  • Performs site visits as and when required.
  • Continuous assessment of SHEQ data:
  • monitor leading and lagging indicators;
  • incident submissions to verify information is complete; and o provides timely updates and reports to key stakeholders.
  • Identifies, recommends and ensures employees receive appropriate training.
  • Monitors, evaluates and reviews existing, new and upcoming Health and Safety legislation and ensuring the company has systems and procedures in place to meet legal compliance.
  • Works strategically on SHEQ development.
  • Reviews and assists with the development of the company’s health and safety policies ensuring they are implemented consistently across the company.
  • Ensures emergency response systems, policies and procedures are in place to manage emergency situations.
  • Ensures all required regulatory and customer reporting is completed accurately, approved and submitted by deadline.
  • Communicates with regulatory agencies/ customers to resolve compliance issues and provide requested information.

 

Education / Experience:

 

  • NEBOSH Certificate is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability of multi-tasking, problem solving and decision making when required.
  • Must have the ability to research, analyse, interpret and implement SHEQ regulations, standards and best practices as they relate to operations.
  • Ability to work to deadlines individually and as part of a team, demonstrating commitment, hard-work, enthusiasm and flexibility to the role.
  • Must have a working knowledge of SHEQ Management systems, be IT literate with a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office packages.
