Head of Traffic Management

We are now recruiting for an organised and strategic Head of Traffic Management. Joining as a Head of Traffic Management you will be entitled to a highly competitive basic salary and a great range of benefits including.

You will have overall responsibility for supplying adequate and profitable traffic management so our internal works can take place profitably and according to each individual client needs and ensuring we are adhering to the NHSS12d requirements and maintaining our ISO accreditations.

To manage the Traffic Management division including planning, management of traffic operatives, organising permits profitably, ensuring traffic management plans are fit for purpose, organising site surveys.

You will also be responsible for the growth of the division to include external clients.


Duties

The duties of the role include:

·         To abide by the health and Safety policies and ensure you and your team are working safely in line with regulations.

·         Keeping up to date with any changes to the NHSS

·         Recording and updating the company registration to the sector scheme on the schedule of supplier’s website

·         Recruitment of traffic management staff, office staff and support staff

·         Managing the day to operations of the traffic management operatives

·         Control costs to budget

·         Delegate and check Traffic management surveys to decide what type of traffic management is needed.

·         Quotations, Traffic management plans, rams, and council applications forms

·         Monthly stock taking and ordering new equipment when needed

·         Recruitment of traffic management Staff

·         Site Audits

·         Training and mentoring

·         Report all required numbers at weekly and monthly management meetings

·         In addition to the above, any other duties you are required to undertake to ensure smooth running of the department, e.g., Recruiting, Budgeting, organising surveys and being responsible for external purchase order issuing.

 

Desired Education, Skills & Qualifications:

·         Full UK Driving License

·         Lantra Smart Skills Registration Card

·         Registered Traffic Management Operative (RTMO)

·         Registered Lead Traffic Management Operative (Operative level M7)

·         At least 3 years’ experience of running a TM Operation

·         Solid working knowledge of OS Drawings

·         Ability to use CAD to create TM plans

·         Requirements for temporary traffic management.

·         Able to work and design standard requirements for temporary traffic management.

·         Ability to demonstrate you have ongoing suitable health and safety training which shall include appreciation of the risks involved in the installation in the specific aspects of a TM scheme as appropriate.

·         NEBOSH Managing Safely (preferred)

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Northern Irish applicants will be expected to travel to occasionally Gloucester

Experience:

  • CAD: 2 years (Desirable)
  • running a TM operation: 5 years (Required)

Licences - Desirable:

  • LANTA Smart skills Registration Card
  • RTMO
  • Level 7 Lead TM operative

Salary:

From £35k to £40k per year based on experience.
