HSEQ Manager

Our client is a nationwide manufacturing and building contractor who are currently looking to employ an enthusiastic and dynamic HSEQ Manager with previous experience of working within a construction and manufacturing environment.

The desired candidate will have 7 + years’ work experience in HSEQ roles, at least 5 years in a Management role

Reporting to Director level, the successful candidate will be predominantly based at their facility in the Antrim area. They will also be required to visit various sites and integrate with the delivery teams to provide help and advice to all construction and manufacturing operations UK wide.

Limited Travel, dictated by the successful candidates own schedule.

Based out of the companies Head Office in Co Antrim, the post holder should have a proactive and enthusiastic attitude and be able to interact with the site and production teams and business units to ensure effective relationships are established. They must be solutions driven and not solely perform an auditing role.

Package is competitive £55 - 65k DOE

Packages may be higher for exceptional candidates


Your responsibilities would include:

H&S, Sustainability and Quality (direction and culture):

  • Develop, with others, business objectives. Specify and project manage agreed improvement projects
  • Set and communicate business HSEQ standards
  • Liaise with the Group directors re strategic direction

Manage H&S, Sustainability and Quality processes:

  • Management of business documented processes and external certifications
  • Monitor HSEQ standards in the business, through an effective audit and inspection process
  • Manage business reporting and monitoring processes
  • Identify, manage and implement HSEQ improvements

Managing the people:

  • Promote an HSEQ culture consistent with Client's industry leadership ambition.
  • Liaise with the business’s directors and managers (especially operations, HR and procurement) and other key groups
  • Manage the HSEQ Team

Managing the Client and other external relationships:

  • Establish effective communications and dialogue with key clients
  • Establish external networks to identify best practices

Qualifications

  • Must have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Health & Safety Management role.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience directly in construction health and safety
  • Previous experience of managing a team of health and safety personnel.
  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety legislation, relevant codes of practice along with the ability to implement risk assessments and safe systems of work in line with these.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the buildability of large precast structures along with knowledge of CDM and temporary works procedures.
  • Must have NEBOSH diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum graduate member of IOSH and working towards CMIOSH.
