HSEQ Manager

Our Client is a leading joinery and interior fit-out contractor with an excellent record and project portfolio.

They currently require a HSEQ Manager to join them in in their head office based in Lisburn.

Reporting to the CEO the successful candidate will actively assist in the operation and delivery of an effective HSEQ Management programme, ensuring compliance and continual improvement with the latest revisions of the ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 certificated management systems.

Although based at our Head Office in Lisburn, this role will involve some travel to site within the UK, once a week or less

Packages will be Negotiable DOE circa £35 – 45k

Key Responsibilities

Undertake regular inspections and audits in keeping with an agreed programme in all operating regions and report accordingly.

Investigate and report on incidents, dangerous occurrences, ill health and near misses.

Prepare and present relevant statistics.

Advise and assist site and office based staff on all aspects of the Company’s Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems and procedures.

Source, plan and also deliver training to employees as required to recognised/acceptable standards.

Continual promotion of the health and safety ethos and culture at all levels in the Company and with sub-contractors.

Preparation of Construction Phase Health and Safety Plans the site with assistance from site staff.

Respond to tender pre-qualification questionnaires and contribute to quality submissions.

Assess competence of sub-contractors.

Attend and contribute to health and safety meetings at site, regional and Company level..

Contribute to and develop appropriate health and safety, as well as environmental initiatives

Prepare and distribute regular health and safety alerts as required.

Liaise with the Company Insurance Department in respect of insurance claims and related court hearings.

Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Management Systems.

Personal Profile

NEBOSH Certificate in Construction or equivalent qualification.

At least 5 years post graduate experience preferably in a health and safety/ environmental/quality related role.

Building background preferably fit out experience

Willingness to assume additional responsibilities in keeping with the requirements of the post.

Competent in information technology.

Experience in delivering presentations/training sessions.

Experience of health and safety, environmental, energy and quality management systems.

Be able to demonstrate a drive and passion of continual improvement of all our systems.

Ideally have previous experience working for a main contractor and having management experience

 

Experience in delivering HSEQ training courses.
