Summary Description

CSR are recruiting for a construction consultancy based in Belfast City Centre. With a full order book for the rest of the year with project stretching from high end hotels right through to large commercial builds, the experience gained with this consultancy will set you in great shape for your future career.

They are looking for an ambitious, hard-working graduate who will join a team seamlessly and have the drive to take the next career steps towards senior roles and a great QSing career.

With a fantastic holidays package, great working hours including getting out early on Fridays as well as paid parking and fuel coverage for any site visits that are required, this consultancy go the extra mile to make sure you are happy in your role.

Our client require a graduate preferably with a year’s work experience behind them (consultancy on contractor) or else 1-2 years post graduate experience in a PQS!  Our client already have a number of graduate quantity surveyors in their team, so they would be the perfect company to start your PQS career off with if you haven’t already.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

·         Prepare contract documents - e.g. bills of quantities with the client or architect

·         Estimate materials, time and labour costs for the project

·         Negotiate and analyse costs for tenders and contracts

·         Coordinate work effort

·         Manage Risk, Value and Cost Control

·         Allocate work to Sub-Contractors

·         Analyse potential and actual outcomes, producing detailed progress reports

·         Value the finished product and arrange payments

·         Implement Health and Safety Regulations

Desired Skills

·         Critical thinking

·         Construction Knowledge

·         Financial and numeracy skills

·         Ability to solve problems

·         General Computer Skills

·         Detailed knowledge of the legal building regulations and requirements

 

Qualifications

·         Degree or professional qualification in Quantity Surveying.

·         Minimum a year’s work placement
