CSR are delighted to be working with a leading civil, utilities and environmental contractor who, due to recent award wins are looking at adding to their team. With head office in Newry and another office base in Belfast there will be flexibility on work location and working patterns. There will be a healthy mixture of office and site based work for this dynamic role.

 This position is with a leading contractor but due to there be some designs elements to the role they are willing to speak to individuals who are from a consultancy or design background.

 

We have an exciting career role in our established team based in Belfast for a Civil Engineer with strong analytical skills and experience in technical delivery of civil engineering projects.

You will work alongside our project managers and lead design engineers throughout the project design and delivery cycle, supporting various design stages of water utility projects to include carrying out feasibility studies, reference designs, detailed designs and preparation of reports and technical specifications.

As a Civil Engineer with us, you will have the following responsibilities:

·         Assisting with and preparing of technical designs for utility and water related projects.

·         Assisting with and preparing of technical specifications and reports.

·         Developing civil designs and assessments and checking to time and budget.

·         Ensuring all work is fully compliant with Health and Safety legislation, the CDM Regulations and other applicable codes.

·         Undertake project technical/quality reviews and attend design reviews for projects.

·         Undertake site visits as needed.

·         Contribute to group initiatives with respect to technical development / market sectors and processes.

·         Assist with project management, and build upon your knowledge to enable you to lead projects with progression.

·         Assisting with and preparation of bid proposals and additional fee proposals.

·         Provide timely and accrete reports

·         Able to write up inspection reports

·         Knowledge of safety and environmental legislation

·         Capable of managing complex projects with min supervision

·         Experience in working in a fast paced and intense environment – desirable

·         Experience in managing quality systems – desirable

·         Support all business objectives

·         Keep good relationships with everyone on site and also clients

·         Ensure that works are accurately and clearly set out before work is programmed to commence

 

 

Minimum Requirements

·         A degree or equivalent in civil engineering or similar.

·         Experience in the technical delivery of utilities or water engineering projects
