Civil Engineer – Utilities

My client, a very well-known Utilities and Civil Engineering Contractor established in the Republic of Ireland that has proven track record of large scale projects and attention to detail for the past 15 years. They are looking for a Civil Engineer in the West of Ireland with experience of water rehabilitation. This is a full time permanent position with a top company. Starting salary is very generous and there are definite clear progression opportunities.

Requirements

·         Basic knowledge of water main installation works / roadworks

·         Basic knowledge of AutoCAD

·         Basic knowledge of ArcGIS (not essential but beneficial)

·         Use of GPS and have knowledge of surveying

Duties

·         Gather information with GPS and draw up in AutoCAD and ArcGIS for as-built drawings to be submitted to the client

·         Taking site records

·         Check plans, drawings and quantities.

·         Day-to-day management of the site, including supervising and monitoring the site labour force.

·         Planning the work and efficiently organising the plant and site facilities in order to meet agreed deadlines.

·         Ordering materials for site activities.

·         Overseeing the quality control and health and safety matters on site.

·         Communicating with members of the public on a daily basis.
