CSR are currently working on behalf of an expanding civil engineering client to recruit a Buyer to work on a range of bespoke projects throughout NI.

As a Buyer you will be joining a company who have a reputation for developing excellent relationships and delivering on large scale projects.

Duties

Working closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor you will be responsible for the following:

Preparation for proposals and quotations

Compiling data relating to supplier responses

Carrying out supplier evaluations

Conducting negotiations to enable the shortlisting of suppliers, for designated procurement exercises

Supporting final negotiations with selected suppliers

Preparing orders

Liaise with sites to assist with supply issues as and when required

Provide regular reports on procurement / supplier performance

Identify potential new suppliers / products

Meet with suppliers to build relationships

Establish long term supplier relationships with focus on value for money

The ability to communicate effectively across all levels.

The person

Experience of material and subcontract procurement within a construction related environment

Excellent communication skills, together with effective negotiation skills

Strong analytical skills

Commercial awareness

Team player
