BIM Technician – Derry/Londonderry
LOCATION – Derry / Londonderry
POSITION – BIM Technician
EXPERIENCE – Minimum 2 years in similar role
PROJECTS – NI Wide (no travel) – Large scale commercial/Education/Leisure
SALARY – Dependant on experience

The Opportunity
You will be joining a very exciting team, well known for their house building across Northern Ireland. The role will be based in Eglinton Co. Derry where you will be tasked with the BIM element of their residential projects. They would consider BIM experience from most fields, however architecture may be a good fit.
Role & Responsibilities
You will be working alongside the Directors and quantity surveyors responsible for the following:
- Active production of project information in Revit
- Producing new models and amending of existing models for house types, apartment types and site layouts
- Producing quantity take offs schedules suitable for the QS
- Daily management of BIM workflows
- Developing the practice’s BIM protocol and office standards document
- Producing construction drawings for building control plan approval and working drawings for site
- Coordination of foundation design, timber frame design, structural fabrication and M&E designs into the model
- Setting up Common data environments (CDE)
- Preparation of project specific BIM Execution plans
- Creating Revit families for use by the teams
- Develop Revit graphic standards, to maintain consistency though different projects
- Regular model reviews and audits
- Support and train teams on Revit and BIM protocols
- Troubleshooting BIM model issues.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience working on large scale Revit
- Skilled user of Revit, and understanding of BIM protocols
- Skilled user of Navisworks, AutoCad and other BIM software
- Knowledge of the house building industry
- Ability to work independently, with precise attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and an aptitude to mentor and train
- Able to work accurately and efficiently to meet deadlines and client expectations
