Assistant/ Graduate Quantity Surveyor - Fitout

An expanding Fitout Contractor in Northern Ireland has a new opportunity for a Junior/ Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the Commercial team.

As a Quantity Surveyor, working alongside the Commercial Manager and you will be responsible for the for monitoring the control of costs, maximising revenue, minimising liabilities, and maintaining the required standard of financial recording

Main Responsibilities 

  • Achieve the appropriate commercial result for projects through the provision of accurate financial reporting
  • Manage subcontractor supplier accounts, financially and contractually. Monitor subcontractors against the programme. Negotiate final accounts
  • Place supply chain orders in accordance with the procurement schedule
  • Complete measurements and valuations of work executed, ensuring that they meet the conditions of the contract
  • Negotiate and draft subcontracts
  • Monitor project expenditure against budget. Provide analysis of cost over-run and cost projections. Exploring opportunities to maximise value and minimise cost.
  • Liaise with clients on commercial issues, including agreement of variations, claims and additional payments
  • Identify legitimate contractual claim situations and prepare suitable and documentation to clients
  • Produce and monitor cash flows
  • Abide by all business compliance requirements in line with Company policies
  • Flexibility to work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines

Skills and experience required

  • Previously held a Quantity Surveying role
  • Minimum 1-2 years experience in Quantity Surveying
  • Educated to Degree level, in Quantity Surveying or a related subject. HND/HNC or strong construction related experience will be considered
  • An appropriate and valid CSCS / CSR card
  • Hold a Full UK Driving License
