A site manager or construction manager, site agent or building manager as they are sometimes known are responsible for supervising construction sites and running construction projects.  They will oversee the project on a day-to-day basis and make sure the work is carried out safely, to the right standard and also within budget.
As a site manager, you could be responsible for a whole site or, with larger projects you may only be responsible for a part of it and report to a more senior manager.

 

Other responsibilities include:

Qualifications and training required

Relevant experience can also be helpful, although not essential. Some employers offer sponsorship, and 'year out' placements which can provide valuable contacts and a useful insight into the profession.
